•2009/07/06 • 1 Commentthis past weekend was pretty much just like every weekend recently except, this time, there was a little something special this time around.
on sunday, i had taiko practice as usual. i was able to take some videos as well which i may post up later. i don’t get a lot of practice so at the least i have the music recorded and i can better prepare myself that way for the songs we’ll be playing in the festival.
after taiko practice, we went to asakadai to help a friend move in to his new apartment. it’s a pretty slick apartment, unconventional according to normal japanese apartment building designs but it’s still cool. during that time, i tried to hunt down a cheap airline ticket for my september return to california. no luck, hope travelocity can still provide some relatively cheap tickets.
we spent a lot of time with the apartment thing that i was running late to a small independence day celebration hosted by another friend. by the time we got to omiya park, we were able to meet the other group at the entrance at the same time! lucky us. drinking and lighting fireworks in the park was really fun but something was amiss with my gf.
what followed shortly after lighting fireworks and parting ways was somewhat of a whirlwind of activity that has ultimately left me without words. the world would be a slightly better place when parents stop being batshit insane-in-the-membrane crazy. just, wow.
i will stop posting on this blog soon. i am lucky to have a website hosted and am currently working on it and will start posting from there when i get things tweaked out. it’ll be more of the same, a blog, but at the least i have more freedom in designing and adding things now that i have webspace and a fancy server with capabilities that will allow me to explore my ideas. many thanks have been doled out to the person who has offered to host me!
word.

i miss being able to call up some people and go out for a random night to drink and dance the night away. as awkward as some of those times have felt, it was good just to get out and dance.
i’m looking into it, there’s a pretty cool website for the party scene in japan: higher frequency
here’s hoping i get my dance on soon! if not in july, then august for sure. this needs to happen.
